What To Expect

What's The Procedure?

Since becoming a massage therapist, I realized that getting a massage may be a new experience for some. It may be stressful - even to those who frequently get massages because they have never met me.  Whether you're a newbie or a veteran of massage - I would highly recommend a treatment to see what the hype is all about. Whatever your reason is for getting a massage, whether to alleviate chronic pain, reduce muscle tension, decrease soreness from exercise, or for relaxation, my main goals are your comfort and that you get results.

Below, I have listed the process of how to make an appointment with me and what sets me apart from other therapists or a spa session.

*Make Your Appointment

You can text, call, or book online to schedule a session. Together we will determine the best date/time to schedule your session. I ask that you arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment as to fill out paperwork, for an assessment, and to answer any questions you may have.  For all other sessions, please arrive on time. Time may be deducted from your session if you arrive late.

*Arriving For Your Session

Upon arriving for your session, you will fill out your intake form and receive an assessment. The assessment will help me figure out what your issue(s) may be and to determine the best treatment for your session. After the assessment and some conversation about what has taken place so far, I will make recommendations and together we will decide what would be best for you. Next, I will tell you how to lie on the table - either face up or face down and to disrobe to the level of your comfort. I will leave the room while you get undressed and get on the table.

*Getting Undressed

It is very very important to me that you are comfortable during your session and that begins with the amount of undress you are comfortable with. I always inform my clients that they are welcome to leave their undergarment on but the final decision will be up to you. I have had clients get completely undressed or leave their bra and/or underwear on. You are also welcome to leave all clothing on for massage. Again, it is completely up to you.

*The Massage Session

Before I put my hands on you I will dim the lights, adjust the face cradle, and the bolster. If I had not said it during the assessment, I will ask you "if the pressure is ever too much or too light, please let me know." Once we are done with your session, I will leave the room while you dress. Next, we will have a conversation about the session, go over any exercises, heat, or ice that may be needed, and hopefully schedule our next appointment.

It is always a pleasure to work with my clients. Thank you for selecting me as your licensed massage therapist.
